Here are some things you can do about your tax bill:

  • File for an extension. This will give you until October 15 to file your taxes. You can still pay your taxes by April 15, but you won't have to pay any late fees or interest if you file for an extension.

  • Set up a payment plan with the IRS. If you can't afford to pay your tax bill in full, you can set up a payment plan with the IRS. You can make monthly payments over a period of up to 72 months.

  • Apply for a tax break. There are a number of tax breaks available to taxpayers who are experiencing financial hardship. You may be eligible for a tax break if you have lost your job, have a high medical expense, or are a low-income taxpayer.

If you're not sure what to do, you can contact the IRS for help. They have a number of resources available to taxpayers who are experiencing financial hardship.

Here are some additional things you can do to get help with your financial situation:

  • Contact your state's department of human services. They may be able to provide you with financial assistance, such as food stamps or unemployment benefits.

  • Contact a nonprofit financial counseling agency. They can help you create a budget and develop a plan to pay off your debts.

  • Contact a bankruptcy attorney. If you're considering bankruptcy, an attorney can help you understand your options and file for bankruptcy if that's the best course of action for you.
